Meet Dr. Yamada
Dr. Alan Yamada's family goes back four generations in the Los Angeles area. Growing up in Venice, California, he learned his work ethic from his father, who was a gardener. This blue collar childhood grounded him.
Dr. Yamada is committed to medical and spiritual mission work that has taken him and his family to South Africa, Swaziland, the Caribbean, India, Mexico, Katrina Relief in Mississippi and into downtown Los Angeles.
Dr. Yamada's greatest satisfaction comes from helping those in need all over the globe.
An avid deep-sea and fly fisherman, Dr. Yamada devotes much of his free time to his kids and enjoying the great outdoors. His hobbies include adventure motorcycling (he has a BMW R1200GS, his fourth bike), skiing with his family, travelling with his wife, golf, shopping with his two girls, fishing with his son and keeping up with world events.
Dr. Yamada's educational experience took him from Venice High to UC Berkeley, to Cambridge University in England, through Yale Medical School to Los Angeles County Medical Center, and now Arcadia. This educational assortment provided him with a varied insight into understanding and relating to many racial and socioeconomic groups.
