Dr. Alan Yamada is a Urologist in private practice since 1993, in the cities of Arcadia, San Gabriel and Pasadena, California. He is a graduate of Yale Medical School and is Board certified in Adult and Pediatric Urology. His diverse practice consists of approximately 30% women and 10% pediatric patients. He specializes in minimally invasive surgery of the prostate, kidney, stones and female urinary incontinence and vaginal reconstruction. However, he is also a gifted laparoscopic and traditional open surgeon who completed six years of training at the Los Angeles County Medical Center prior to private practice. He is an accomplished micro surgeon for vasectomy reversals as well as an expert in radical cancer operations of the bladder, prostrate and kidneys.
Dr. Yamada believes in treating the whole patient, not just treating the disease with surgery. As an example, he was the first urologist in the San Gabriel Valley to offer his patients modern brachytherapy for treatment of prostate cancer back in 1996, and is a strong advocate of offering all options, surgical and non-surgical, for treatment of this particular malignancy. More importantly, you will find him and by extension, his office staff, to always be positive, affable, caring and down to earth, in their approach to patients and their families.
